![]() Thank you for reading till the end and have a nice day!Īs cursed as cursed can get. Hope my feedback was useful! If it was, please drop a like so it could be useful to other people as well)) It will take you 2 hours max to complete, you decide whether that's worth your money or you'd rather wait for discounted price or watch it on yt. But if you expected more mechanics or story, I would say that this Amanita's work is very different from the rest and you should be ready for that. You get to observe an amazing art along the way though, so in my opinion it's worth it. It's an experience that's gorgeous but slow and feels more like walking simulator. I would rate the game 7.3 happy faces / 10 because it's not really a game. Constantly flashing red screen is a big no for photosensitive people! Be careful if you are. That feels like dragging out something that wasn't meant to be so long in the first place.ģ. I would personally enjoy the game a lot more if it didn't require you to repeat the same slow action from 3 to 8 times in a row. I really didn't see the point in progression other than experiencing new visuals that are, undoubtedly, gorgeous.Ģ. Even though, you have freedom to interpret the game, it still feels like there's no story or conclusion. The level design is pretty interesting and thematic, leaves room for you to interpret the game.ġ. You won't get frustrated trying to solve puzzles, you'll naturally progress enjoying the visuals and having fun.ģ. It's easier comparing to other Amanita games which is an advantage here as it's not a puzzle game, it's an experience. It's unique, it's macabre, it's spooky and it's pure nightmare fuel. The art style is the most obvious advantage. Pros and cons are down below) If this comment is going to be useful - drop a like so it could be useful to other people as well)ġ. ![]() ![]() To conclude, Happy Game is a nice and fun attempt at doing something provocative, even though it ends up trying too hard, but for a game that it's just 2 hours long, I won't really think about playing it or not too much if you are into these kinds of experiences. Maybe is something about faking happiness? Or like child abuse, where parents show a happy face while underneath they are corrupted? I'll see about that. I'm really interested in reading some thoughts on the meaning of this, it's not easy to grasp, and even though I have some idea, I don't feel like getting it as I would like it. The second half is also less interesting puzzle side, where basically u have to do very very little to progress. I also think that the first part was better done, where the first "stages" gave me a better sense of progression and involvement, while the last ones felt like it was just a lot of things put together. ![]() Not that it isn't original but it feels like the typical "look at me I'm weird" game. I've to say that this is also because, coming from Machinarium, I expected more while this feels like a bit banal. Starting with the title, it feels like they wanted to look cool, and then u start the game and it says "happy game is not a happy game", ugh, kinda edgy and cringe, I was not expecting it from the same studio that made Machinarium.Īnd this is a feeling I have about the game too, it tries maybe too much to be creepy just for the sake of it, and even though is the point of the game, it put me off a bit. That said, my biggest issue is that it is too abstract and it tries too hard to be weird. The solutions to the "puzzles" are easy but "funny" to perform, and I think it was good that the game didn't take a hard path with them, it would have ruined the pace. Overall it creates a nice fantasy and the situations you will have to resolve are many and different, even though following a specific theme based on the current "stage", that makes it feel more cohesive and immersive. Starting with the good, the atmosphere is on point, u have these creepy vibes mixed with a warm/calm feeling, the aesthetic is creepy as u would expect, and the sound design is great. I saw this new game made by Amanita, and I just got curious about it, especially knowing it was a short experience.Įven though I recommend the game, it's more because I think that overall it's good and creative, but to be honest I enjoyed it less than expected. In my opinion, it's a unique game that broke the repetitive and boring games routine I advise you to try the game and get a unique experience, and thank you for reading my comment :D Summary: A unique game with cute and terrifying drawings that depends on solving puzzles, and it is the first time that I play this kind of games. ☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs ☐ Only if u care about leaderboards/ranks
